A Disposable Society of Geeks!

Ok, now that I have been running my Android Eris for about a month now, I have learned a few things about “all-in-one” devices.  There is no such thing.  The ipod does good at what it does and a cell phone does what it is good at with apps and making phone calls.

I am trying to realize why we need thousands of apps on a cell phone any way.  I can maybe understand GPS, weather and maybe Facebook and Twitter, but do we really need fart apps and apps that read books to you?

The tablet maybe better use for all these apps.  I still hate cell phones even though I am using one.  I think they turn people into just for themselves and not socialize.  I find that to be true even with me lately.  I want to play with my phone and ignore people in public.

Another thing I am trying to understand is why are there so many handsets coming out.  Can’t we just have one Android phone and be done, then in two years another Android phone come out?  It is crazy.  I can see why an Iphone is appealing to a consumer.  They only come out every 2 years or so.  Makes lots of sense.  Technology is confusing to begin with.

I needed to rant about this because I am tired of being over whelmed by technology.  Maybe we should go back to the old days. Na, not really, but at least where electronics are not so disposable.

Becoming Anti-Social on Web

I am totally deciding to be anti-social when it comes to the internet lately. I have as I said in the recent post deleted my Twitter account and I also deleted a bunch of my old “test” blogs and considering still to delete my Facebook account.   I also cleaned up my Yahoo accounts.  I am keeping my Tumblr account and my domain name and that is it.  I don’t get the responses from people anymore like I use to and I am also deciding to be more a “real” social person.  I will still be posting pictures and videos here, but very limited.  I have decided to have a life.

I will still follow people and read stuff on line, but other then that nothing really overly big.  I might even change a few things on how I read stuff online.  Go back maybe to old school internet?  I am just thinking out loud.

Twitter Comments Going Back to Blog?

I just got a comment from a Twitter friend about my last post on this blog.  I have my blog set to auto post to Twitter when I post something from tumblr.  So my thought is wish we could go back words and post Twitter comments connected to tumblr.  There has to be a way to do this.  Reason being that most people that comment as @ on Twitter don’t actually comment from my blog directly.  I hope this makes sense.  Feels like I am mumbling about this.  Any thoughts on this idea would be cool
